Hampi Fesitival – Vijayanagar

The village of Hampi near Vijayanagar with ruins of the Vijayanagar Empire hosts a cultural fiesta during the month of October. The festival includes dance, drama, music, fireworks, puppet shows and spectacular processions. DAY 1 ARRIVE MUMBAI
Welcome to India. Meeting and assistance on arrival at the airport and transfer to the hotel.Overnight at the hotel.

DAY 2 IN MUMBAI
Morning after breakfast transfer to Gate way of India to take a Motor Launch to Elephant Caves – the 7th century sculptures of manifestation of Shiva, containing beautiful carvings, sculptures, and a temple to the Hindu God, Lord Shiva. These caves are thought to date back to the Silhara kings belonging to the period between 9th - 12th centuries. With the Brahminical resurgence during the reign of Gupta dynasty in 3rd century AD, these great cave dedicated to Lord Shiva exploded into existence at

Elephanta. Legends and history suggest that the great warrior prince of Chalukya dynasty Pulkesin ll raised the shrine to celebrate his victory. Day 04 Hyderabad
Morning after breakfast excursion Golconda Fort – Once famed for its diamond mines (from which the famous Kohinoor diamond of the British crown was mined) is the site of a strategic fort dating back to the 13th century. This invincible fort has an extraordinary acoustical system and massive battlements.

Usmansagar Lake – One of the most beautiful man-made lake.Krishna river is Nagarjunakonda associated with the famous Buddhist scholar of 2nd century, Nagarjuna. It was an important Buddhist monastic institution and has stupas with handsome sculptures shoeing scenes from the life of Buddha. The Indian Archaeologists have salvaged the precious ruins from their ancient site, lifting them atop a hill and setting them up in a Vihara style museum. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 05 Hyderabad – Bidar - Gulbarga
Morning after breakfast departure by surface to Gulbarga en route visiting tiny district of Bidar, The capital of the Bahamani kingdom and later the Barid Shahi dynasty, Bidar has many places of architectural and historical interest. The Bidar Fort with five darwazas (gates) leads into a town nestled within the ramparts. Rangeen Mahal, once the royal residence, has elaborately carved wooden Pillars, Persian couplets engraved in encaustic tiles and exquisite mother-of pearl inlay work. The Madrasa of Mohammed Gawan and the tombs of the Bahamani and Barid kings deserve a visit.upon arrival check in at the hotel. Rest of the day free of leisure. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 06 Gulbarga - Bijapur
Morning after breakfast departure by surface to Bijapur. Upon arrival check in at the hotel. Afternoon sightseeing tour of Bijapur capital of the Adil Shahi kings, experienced a great deal of architectural activity under the Adil Shahi dynasty between 10th and 11th centuries. Visit Gol Gumbaz - It Contains the mausoleum tomb of the Mahammed Adil Shahi (1626-56 AD), the seventh ruler of dynasty, and is the fourth largest dome in the world.This has the floor area of 1700 sq.m, a height of 51 m. and diameter 37 m. Rauza It was probably the inspiration for Agra's Taj Mahal.It is a delicately designed structure. Malik-I-Maidan - An enormous cannon, 14 feet-long and weighing 55 ton, it is one of the largest bell metal guns in the world. A unique feature is that it is always cool, even under blazing sun and when tapped gently it tinkles softy like a bell. Mehtar Mahal - 1 Km, this finely wrought gateway to the mosque is an excellent example of the Indo-Saracenic style of architecture. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 07 Bijapur - Badami
Morning after breakfast at the hotel drive to Badami upon arrival check in at the hotel. Later sightseeing tour Badami - the capital of the Chalukyas is located picturesquely at the mouth of a ravine between two rocky hills. Badami is the home to Rock-cut caves, gateways, forts, inscriptions, sculptures etc Overnight at the hotel.

Day 8 IN Badami
Morning after breakfast at the hotel. Full day excursion to Pattadakal – one of the world heritage sites. It has 10 major temples representing early Chalukyan architecture. The prominent among these are the Virupaksha, Mallikarjuna, Papanatha temples etc. Return to Badami. Rest of the day free of leisure. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 09 Badami - Hospet
Morning after breakfast departure by surface to Hospet enroute visiting Aihole. Almost over one hundred temples dot this small village with intricate carvings, rich in details, which are now a mute witness to a bygone era. Among the most important temples of Aihole is the Lad Khan temple, which dates back to 5th century. Other prominent temples are the Durga temple, Hutchimalli temple, the Ravalphadi temple – which dates back to the 6th century, and the Konthi temple complex. Later continue on to Hospet. Upon arrival check in at the hotel. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 10 Hospet-Hampi-Hospet
Morning after breakfast Drive to Humpi Full day sightseeing tour of Hampi – the erstwhile capital of the Vijayanagar Empire. Among the attractions of Hampi are the Virupaksha temple, The Vithala temple complex and the famous Stone Chariot with stone wheels that actually move. Also see the King’s Balance, the Queens bath, the imposing Elephant stables, and the Hazara Rama temple. Overnight at the hotel.

DAY 11 Hospet – Hampi – Hospet (Hampi Fesitival)
Morning breakfast at the hotel. Full day excursion Humpi to enjoy dance, drama, music, fireworks, puppet shows and spectacular processions.later drive back to Hospet. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 12 Hospet – Hassan
Morning after breakfast departure by surface to Hassan. Upon arrival check in at the hotel. Rest of the day free of leisure . Overnight at the hotel.

Day 13 Hassan – Belure – Halebid – Mysore
Morning after breakfast departure by surface to Mysore en route visiting Belure & Helebid. Belur, once the capital of this great empire is just 42 kilometers from Hassan town. visiting the Chennai Kesava Temple at Belur built 900 years ago and the 12th century Hoysaleswara and Kedareswara temples at Halebid . Upon arrival check in at the hotel. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 14 Mysore
Morning after breakfast at the hotel. Full day sightseeing tour of Mysore City The Palace of the Maharaja built in 1911-12. The Palace is of harmonious syntheses of the Hindu and saracenic style of architecture with archways, dome turrets, colonnades and sculptures, which are magnificent. Visit the Art Gallery, drive up to Chamundi Hill to see the Chamundeshwari Temple and a panoramic view of Mysore. On your way back, see the Nandi Bull. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 15 Mysore – Bangalore

Morning after breakfast departure by surface to Bangalore en route visiting Srirangapatnam – once the capital of Hyder Ali and his sonTipu Sultan. The temple of Lord Srirangapatnam is, said to have been, built by the Chieftain Thirumalaiah in 894 AD. Upon arrival check in at the hotel. Rest of the day free of leisure. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 16 Bangalore – Mumbai
Morning after breakfast sightseeing tour of Bangalore city Bangalore city – the Garden City of India visiting the Lal Bagh which has a variety of old Trees, Fountains, Lotus Pools, Terraces and an assortment of tropical herbs and sub tropical herbs. Also see the Govt. buildings and the Maharajas Palace. Late afternoon departure transfer to the airport to board flight to Mumbai. Assistance on arrival at the airport and transfer to the International airport to board flight back home.
