Camel Festival --- Bikaner (Rajasthan) - January

Day 01 ARRIVE DELHI
Welcome to India . Meeting and assistance on arrival at the airport and transfer to the hotel. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 02 IN DELHI
Breakfast at the hotel.
Morning tour of the crowded streets of Old Delhi (by cycle rickshaws), the Friday Mosque, the Red Fort, Purana Qila, Lodi Tombs and Humayun's Tomb. Afternoon tour of New Delhi will include visits to the Embassy area, India Gate, the Secretariat Buildings , the President's Palace, Parliament House and the Raj Ghat Memorial to Mahatma Ghandi. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 03 DELHI -MANDAWA
Morning after early breakfast, depart Delhi by surface to Mandawa. On arrival in the mid-afternoon, check-in at the hotel. Afternoon visit some of the beautiful historic mansions (havelis), with their spectacular coloured murals. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 04 MANDAWA - BIKANER
Morning after breakfast, travel to Bikaner , a small village famous for its havelis. On arrival in Bikaner check into the hotel. Later visit the Camel Breeding Farm. Overnight at the hotel .

Day 05 IN BIKANER
Morning after breakfast, full day to witness the Camel Festival visiting various festivities and celebrations of the event. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 06 BIKANER - JAISALMER
This morning after breakfast, we will visit the 15th century Junagarh Fort and Museum. Afternoon depart by surface to the medieval walled city of Jaisalmer , located in the middle of the Thar Desert . Upon arrival check-in at hotel. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 07 JAISALMER
After breakfast, visit the Golden Fort, built in 1156 AD by Rawal Jaisal and is situated on 76 m high Triangular mound. Jain Temples , Gadisar Lake , Folk Museum , Havelis, Bara Bagh-Cenotaphs built amidst gardens. Afternoon excursion to Sam Sand Dunes, situated 45 kms west of Jaisalemr, with cluster of Sand Dunes. These Dunes varying in size from 3 to 15 kms to a large extent are of shifting sands where wind heaps and the sand into hills or deep hollow scopes. Enjoy the sun set in the evening with its changing colours in desert and take a short Camel ride. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 08 JAISALMER - JODHPUR
In the morning travel by air-conditioned coach, through the Thar Desert to Jodhpur . On arrival check into the hotel. Overnight at the hotel.


Day 09 JODHPUR - UDAIPUR
Morning sightseeing in Jodhpur city, which includes visit to the Mehrangarh Fort, situated on a low sandstone hill, including Moti Mahal and Phool Mahal. Later visit Jaswant Thada, an imposing Marble Memoriam built in 1899 and the museum located in the Umaid Public Gardens . Afternoon depart by surface to Udaipur en route visiting the marvellous Jain Temples at Ranakpur, built in the 15 th century are situated in the lovely valley of the Aravali. Its
surrounding is quite and picturesque. Ranakpur has grand structures and beautiful sculpture. There are 1444 pillars in the temple different from each other. The magic of light and shade is awe-inspiring. Upon arrival check-in at the hotel. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 10 IN UDAIPUR
Morning sightseeing tour of Udaipur city. Among the places visited are the City Palace - a majestic architectural marvel towering over the lake. A conglomeration of courtyards, pavilions, terraces, corridors, rooms and hanging gardens. The main entrance is through the Triple arched gate "Tripolia" with eight marble porticos; the Jagdish temple- built in 1651 by Maharana Jagat Singh, this Indo - Aryan temple is the largest and the most beautiful temple of Udaipur with note worthy sculpted images; the Bharatiya Lok Kala Mandal, which houses an interesting collection of folk dresses, ornaments, puppets, masks, dolls, folk musical instruments, paintings etc; the Saheliyon ki Bari with its many fountains etc. A highlight of your trip to Udaipur is a sunset boat cruise on the beautiful placid Lake Pichola . The lake is surrounded by hills, palaces including the beautiful city palace, temples, bathing ghats and embankments. There are two island palaces, The Jagmandir and Jagniwas and also the beautiful Lake Palace sits on an island in this lake. Boat rides, which originate from the City Palace jetty (known as Bansi Ghat), are a popular way of exploring the natural beauty of Udaipur . Boat ride is subject to water conditions. Day 11 UDAIPUR-PUSHKAR
Morning after breakfast, depart by surface to Pushkar and upon arrival check-in at the hotel. Afternoon visit the Holy City of Pushkar visiting the Lake and the Brahma Temple . Overnight at the hotel.

Day 12 PUSHKAR-JAIPUR
Morning after breakfast, depart by surface to Jaipur (167 kms/4 hrs approx.). Upon arrival check-in at the hotel. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 13 JAIPUR
After breakfast, take an excursion to the Amber Fort and visit the Kali Temple and Jai Mahal. Take ride on the elephants back to the ramparts of the Fort. Afternoon visit the Palace of the Winds, The City Palace and the Jai Singh Observatory. We will also have the opportunity to purchase some of the jewellery for which this city is so justly famous. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 14 JAIPUR-FATEHPUR SIKRI- AGRA
Morning after breakfast, depart by surface to Agra en route visiting Fatehpur Sikri , the deserted capital of Mughal India. Among the principal attractions of Fatehpur Sikri are the large audience halls, palaces, the Mosques, the tomb of Salim Chishti, The Panchmahal, and the Buland Darwaza, which is among the biggest gates in Asia. Upon arrival, check into the hotel.

Day 15 AGRA - DELHI

Morning visit to the 16th century Agra Fort and the exquisite white marble architectural masterpiece - the Taj Mahal. Taj Mahal , built by the Mughal Emperor Shah Jehan, this beautiful mausoleum is built of pure white marble and is an architectural marvel. Built in the memory of his beloved queen Mumtaz Mahal. The building was conceived as a garden tomb with the mausoleum rising at the far end of the complex with the river Yamuna flowing below. Beneath the dome are the cenotaphs of Mumtaz Mahal and Shah Jehan. Agra Fort built by Emperor Akbar over the years 1565 - 1573 with its maze of courtyards, mosques, and private chambers. Most of the buildings originally built by Akbar were destroyed and were replaced by his grandson Shah Jehan. The only surviving structure from Akbar's period apart from the solid sand stone ramparts and the gateway is the Jehangir Mahal. It is the biggest private residence in the complex and its architecture indicates strong influences from Hindu overtones. Afternoon depart by surface to Delhi (204 kms/5 hrs approx.) and upon arrival departure transfer to the international airport to board flight back home with the sweet memories of your enchanting holiday with Indian Festival Tours.
